The writer, who lives alone on the top floor of the Hotel Mansfield, on West 44th St., has been observing a puddle on the roof of the Princeton Club on W. 43rd St., which is also visible from his nearby office building. Princeton Pond, as he has named it, only came into being this last autumn. There is no other pond, on rooftop or ground, closer than Central Park. The pond comes & goes & is 3 1/5" deep at its center when flourishing. The writer tells about his observations of the pond in all kinds of weather at all time of day & night & offers suggestions for converting the Princeton Club's roof into a garden focussing on Princeton Pond.
